I’m Mikkel Guensch - a deaf German photographer based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
I started my photography journey in 2023 after struggling to find a job for several years. During that time, I decided to follow in the footsteps of my late mom, who worked for NASA as a photographer. Later on, I unknowingly discovered that I am the fourth generation in my family to carry on our photography legacy.
In the beginning, I wanted to honour my mom by photographing community events for free, since she devoted so much of her time volunteering at a local folk art studio and church. Over time, I completely fell in love with it. There’s something special about seeing people smile when they view photos of their kids, pets, or even themselves and there’s truly no price you can put on that.
With that being said, please feel free to reach out if you’d like me to photograph your community event or your kid’s sporting event free of charge.
Alongside photography, I’m also an aspiring writer who loves creativity in all forms, art, and supporting local businesses whenever I can. I especially enjoy writing food articles with sincerity and authenticity, and I would love to work with a media organisation one day.
From portraits and family sessions to public events and candid moments, my goal is always to create images that feel authentic, emotional, and timeless.
Outside of photography and writing, I’m a huge Star Wars fan, love baseball (Go Baltimore Orioles!), and enjoy playing PS5 games whenever I can.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio and supporting my work.
